The core insert base is constructed of mild steel and coated using a hot dipped galvanisation process, which provides corrosion protection against the elements and is silver in appearance. It's designed to be installed flush into the working surface, reducing or eliminating surface obstructions that can occur with surface mounted davit bases and intended to be inserted into a drilled core and secured using an appropriate adhesive. The friction reducing insert sleeve is constructed of thermoplastic which aids in davit rotation. When used as part of a complete system, this base meets the requirements of EN795:2012, EN1496:2006, CEN/TS 16415: 2013, and AS/NZS 5532.
